Smiling Lady

The last painting in a series of three traditional portraits of old and beautiful people! The other two were Hat Man and Madame Oignon. They're a long overdue Christmas present for one of my sisters (I was supposed to paint them last year, but I waited until I was more comfortable with portraits ^^).

The reference for this one is a picture I found on Pinterest. According to the text, it's a scan (made by Danut Ivanescu, whose blog first published the photo) of a postcard from Uzbekistan. This woman belongs to the Khongirat ethnic minority, and wears their complex clothing (it must be extremely heavy, too ^^).
It's strange, though, because she looks very caucasian... and the Khongirat are supposed to be related to the Mongols. So I hope I'm not entirely mistaken about the photo... Can any Uzbek or Khongirat help me?
